Verify a tailored CV before sending your application
Original manual worksheet: every CV statement needs evidence from your actual experience. A tool-generated score cannot prove what a recruiter or ATS will decide.
Fictional demonstration — no real candidate, vacancy, scoring or AI processing.
Worked example: operations coordinator
Fictional background: six months of spreadsheet reporting and supplier correspondence.
Fictional job: reporting, staff scheduling, suppliers and business English.
| Proposed wording | What the candidate can prove | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Produced weekly spreadsheet reports | Six months of recorded reporting tasks | KEEP, after checking dates |
| Coordinated supplier follow-ups | Supplier correspondence in work history | KEEP, only to the extent actually done |
| Expert in workforce scheduling | No evidence of scheduling duties | REMOVE — invented competency |
| Business English C1 | No documented language level | VERIFY or remove |
Five checks before you apply
- Verify the job. Open the original employer listing and check that it is current, location-appropriate and from an official route.
- Attach evidence to each claim. Every changed keyword, skill or achievement must map to a real job, project, qualification or verifiable responsibility.
- Separate transferable from missing skills. Use comparable experience accurately. Do not silently promote it to a qualification you do not have.
- Read the document yourself. Check dates, contact details, selectable text, spelling and the actual role. No universal ATS pass rate is available.
- Submit and follow up consciously. Use the employer’s published channel and keep a dated record; no response or interview is guaranteed.
